2026 Incidents

At 19:47 the Kearny Fire Department was dispatched to 4-6 Kearny Ave for the report of a building fire, they were advised of possible entrapment. At 19:50 Squad 2 arrived with the building being evacuated with smoke showing but no fire, Deputy 1 arrived on scene shortly after and assumed command. At 19:56 a second alarm was transmitted. Crews continued to work to include pulling ceiling, opening the roof and ventilating windows. The fire had extended to the cockloft and crews worked to chase it down. At 20:25 the Jersey City Taskforce which was currently acting as station coverage was sent to the scene. At 20:32 a EMS unit was requested to the front of a building to asset a firefighter. At 20:59 the incident was placed under control. A PAR was conducted and all members were accounted for.
